Retiring!
To all of the friends and supporters of Zebra Crossing African Art & Decor:
Twelve years after starting my African import business and many adventures later I have decided to retire.
I have met many wonderful people both in my travels and here at my little shop in Regina and I will miss all of you.
I will be putting the business up for sale, it will include a starter package of inventory, logo, website, display units, contacts for buying in Africa, and start up support.
If you or someone you know loves adventure travel and would be interested in travelling to African every 12-18 months, meeting artists and crafters and buying directly from them please let them know.
I have given notice on the present location and will be closed here as of May 12, 2012.
Check out our Retrospective gallery.
About Us
After an exchange to Zimbabwe in 1998 Margorie started importing small quantities of handcrafts to fund a poultry project on a co-op farm. We painted our old Volkswagon van in Zebra stripes and sold at festivals in western Canada for a couple of years before opening our storefront in Regina in the fall of 2002.

Buying beads in Ghana.
Usually making a couple of buying trips yearly we now import from Tanzania, Malawi, Zimbabwe, Ghana and Morocco. We search out unique items from craftsmen that we get to know as well as local markets, co-operatives and roadside vendors.
